Free short fiction

I decided to put four of my previously published short stories online. One appeared in the first issue of Potato Monkey, and promptly won an Aurealis Award. The other three appeared in Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine in 2001 and 2002.
You'll find details on the Hal Spacejock website, including mini synopsis and info on original publication dates. They're all very different - Fantasy/humour, SF/humour, straight SF and a short comedy piece.

Simon Haynes is the author of the Hal Spacejock and Hal Junior series (Amazon / Smashwords / other formats)

Thanks for the link--it looks interesting :)

Hal Spacejock is definitely on my to purchase list, as well. I'm sure my boy would love another book for his birthday. . .

I've had a lot of feedback via email and the contact form on the Hal Spacejock website. So far it's all been positive, but I welcome comments good or bad. (I can't get better unless I know what I'm doing wrong too!)

My boy said he loved it, and walked around reading various scenes aloud. Once I've got through my current Mieville, I'll have a look myself and let you know what I think. :)

Thanks for letting me know. It sounds like he had great fun with it, which is exactly what an author loves to hear.
Now try 'Hal's New Ship' on him (free download - link in my latest blog post)
